Schnitzelbank
Tried the Schnitz last Friday. The Schnitzelbank is a German restaurant in Jasper, Indiana-about an hour away. I remembered this place from when my high school German club had went.
Well, Friday I wanted some weiner schnitzel and good beer. We got there and I gotta say it's a nice restaurant. Exposed beams, cukoos, nice bar, what you would expect. The prices were highish, 20 dollars a person, 5 dollar steins, etc.
I got Warsteiner Dunkel(which is awesome), weiner schnitzel (essentialy country fried veal), german potatoes, and turnip slaw(very bitter/nasty). Angela got a wurst platter.
My complaints: skin fell off my veiner schnitzel, waitress got my order wrong, not the best german I have ever had.
The food was decent though, if priced high. Angela's order was great, especially the spicy mustard, but maybe by the time I was eating her leftovers I was a little drunk- hard to tell.
Cincinatti had better German food, as did Fredericksburg, Texas.
